Yesterday we made it to Rome. It is sweltering here. We are staying in a "camping village" but our place is air conditioned which is quite nice. To get here we had to take the metro and the worst, most packed bus ever. We about died when we finally arrived at our bungalow (their word not mine hah) Once we got situated we threw on our suits and headed straight to the pool. It was such a relief to jump in and be able to lay out by the pool. After about 2 hours we headed in and found ourselves to be pinkish. I was just happy to get some color. My sandal tan is ridiculous. I think it's beyond repair.
Today, we woke up early and went sightseeing. We went by Saint Peters Basilica and the Vatican but didn't go in. It was still pretty cool to see. Our next stop was the Trevi Fountain, which was awesome. It's huge! You just wanna jump in cause the water looks so cool and blue. We got our picture with a gladiator that looks pretty funny. We then walked over the the Pantheon, which was alright. We saw the outside but the gate through was closed. Lastly, we went to the Colosseum. It would have been amazing had the ticket guy not given us such a runaround for our reserved tickets. It was a little more than frustrating. However, it was really cool to see and once again got some great pics. Can't wait to share!
The weather for our trip has been so good but we're heading back to Ireland tomorrow which probably means rain hah The cooler temperature will be welcomed though. Couple things to get done in Dublin tomorrow, then back to good ole Chicago!
