Updates, updates. So... I have of course been following the World Cup from here... all I have to say on that note for today's games is: PORTUGAL ABOUT TIME! Chile played nicely and Honduras I still love you Spain played like crap and you deserved the win over those whiners any day!
Tomorrow Uruguay v Mexico is what I'll be watching for the first game and after that ARGENTINA PLAYSSSSS yesssss! It's gonna be un quilombo here! Argentina will be winning v Greece of course. I have money on a three point lead.... Messi is set to captain the team for the game according to Maradona so things should be interesting! Let's go ARGENTINA!
The past couple of days I haven't done a lot - just kinda hanging out but I enjoyed myself. Yesterday was the start of Festival de la Bandera: a week-long celebration in Rosario that happens every June since Argentina's flag was first created here. The Monument of the Flag is pretty cool and I walked around a bit yesterday but there were a lot of people and I didn't really know where to go down by the river and it was cold so I headed back to my apartment and made myself some dinner.
Today was a great day: had lunch with Sofi and Anto and met Roque today who was trying to convince me of his political convictions which are very different from mine hahaha and it's fairly entertaining to talk to him about this stuff - he believes that to be Argentine means to be Peronista (which can be Leftist or Rightist - I should mention that and it's a bit complicated and confusing as to who is on which side of being Peronista in conversation)... so that means I'm supposed to go back to the States a Peronista. He also cheered for Spain in the Spain v Honduras game so we had to argue over futbol and as woman he basically said I know nothing about futbol but was impressed that I played for years and was a referee and gained a bit of respect for me when he heard who I'd supported in the games today. He supports Spain over Argentina even QUE BOLUDEZ!
Anyhow... time for bed now. Will write more in a few days. The next few days will be very busyyyy for me and this weekend is my trip up to Reconquista in the north of the province (Santa Fe) and I think I might go to Colon sometime for a day or two in the next couple weeks with some friends since Anto is from there...
I miss and love you all and will see you all in about a month! <3 Besos!
