They came in search of Paradise and found…… Moorea. Without a doubt the most beautiful island I have ever seen. Extraordinary deep green volcanic peaks, jagged pitons, flat topped cones. Then the blue sea: turquoise out to the fringing reef, then the surf break and the deep royal blue as the ocean drops away. White sand beaches…. No high rise development at all. What a fantastic day! Tahiti is somewhere I've dreamed of visiting since I was a child and saw it in a film. It has not been a disappointment When we woke up we were coming around Tahiti towards Papeete, with the island of Moorea ahead of us. It was already scorching hot at 8am. The weather is getting steadily more sultry as we approach Tahiti where we will dock at 9am tomorrow morning. We are going to be on a dock in Papeete so should be able to get ashore pretty quickly. We are going diving in the afternoon but have the morning free so going to do a bit of sightseeing and also find an internet café where we can do some heavy duty "on-lining" and also phone both of the girls or better Facetime/Skype with them to see their dear face...

Woke up feeling a lot better which is a relief. Still pretty sniffy but feeling ok. We pegged out by the pool, deciding on a quiet day. Bob's Kindle has been playing up in the heat as usual. Every year, one of our Kindles gives up the ghost about this time. We bought a cheap one on Ebay to bring with us as a spare just in case. Anyway. Bob's has refused to charge/reboot when connected to power directly so we have tried it today connected by USB to my laptop...
