After an early start, arrived in Singapore having lost 7 or 8 hrs, still not sure which! Dropped bags at hotel (pics to follow - will explain that in a bit) and got instructions for getting to hop on hop off bus, a couple of blocks away.
A city of skyscrapers so far.
Did the complete loop round their yellow route (1hr), past their London eye equivalent, many many skyscrapers, various embassies and government buildings. then stayed on to go back to the botanical gardens, including a healing garden with medicinal plants. Unfortunately the toxic garden is only accessible on a guided tour - no fun!
A quick change of bus route down orchard road (one long road full of various shopping malls and hotels) onto the blue line and up to little India area and around. So tomorrow I'll need to revisit orchard road - I need to find an apple stockist - this idiot left the little gadget that connects the SD card reader to the iPad at home, so no photos yet of my adventures and if I can't find one, believe it or not there's no Apple store here yet, it's have to wait till Australia to share photos.

Carol Good to hear your first leg has gone OK. Singapore always sounds like an exotic place. Enjoy! ... especially the warm sunshine!! X
Mary I hope you saw the orchids in the botanic gardens. I can't believe you won't find a store that will sell you one. Orchard Road was where Dad and I got talked into buying lens.
