Hi All
I've started to settle into the teaching life I have had a few lessons with Class 6, which are the 12 year old and they are very clever. I had to stay for a teacher's meeting last night so I was in school most of the day. The headmaster has offered for me to have a lift home at the end of everyday, so that means hanging around for an hour or so here and there but it does save me a taxi fare. So I only have to pay for the taxi into school as the cost can add up. I had a lift home with one of the teachers he was about 50ish but he had a really fast motorbike and in Haad Rin it is very mountainous (Steep!) so I was on the back flying up and down these mountains winding in and out of other cars, mainly on blind corners. I certainly was an experience! The funny part was that everybody Thai's and tourist were looking at us on the bike - with a strange look on their faces I could see the statement that was popping into their heads - they look an odd couple - haha! As you always see old western men with a young Thai girl on the bikes and it was the opposite way around so that made me laugh.
We had some drinks at Haad Rin on the beach last Friday - we had a really good time and met loads of friendly people mainly young travelers. We are definitely getting the feeling that the party week has arrived - I was awake last night from 3am to 7am with banging drum and bass music from the bar near my accommodation. We are at our first Full Moon party tonight! Apparently it doesn't start getting busy until about 11-12pm.But we are going early to have a good meal - were all really looking forward to it!!Luckily, I'm not teaching the next day until 12.30pm so I need to be ready for school about 11.50am.But some of the girls have a lesson at 8.30am!
Got to go busy bee! Love Ali x
