we left Bikaner in the morning and drove straight to Pushkar. When we arrived I could see mountains with temples right on top of them, and as we entered the town it looked a bit more relaxed and a bit more touristy than some of the other places we'd come from. Our hotel had a swimming pool, but as we had so much washing to do and only two hours until our camel ride we couldn't go for a swim.
My camel was called Motif and the camel driver looked about 15. We were joined by an Argentinian lady called Antonia, who we chatted to when we got off the camels for a break at sunset. I was enjoying the camel ride and even let go with one hand to take some photos, and then the camel decided to jump over a stream, so i put the camera away!!! We passed a few families in the dessert area who were living in tents and all the children ran up to us to say hello. There was also lots of yoga retreats and spiritual looking tourists.
Antonia was travelling alone so we invited her out to dinner with us, and we ate at a lonely planet recommended pizzeria. I went for pasta which was a bad choice, but the pizza looked really good and was cooked in a massive clay oven. Antonia gave us lots of advice for travelling South America, and we said we'd meet up with her again in Jaipur.
