Its my last day in Phi Phi today before leaving for Samui tommorrow. Oppy is going to another island with his friends and I'm leaving him for a few days to travel with a group of people I met which should be fun.

Yesterday was quite active, the 2 girls we came here with left the island so in the morning I did the climb up to the view point at the very top of the mountains. There was more steps than I've climbed in my life and I was pretty hot and bothered by the time I reached the top but it was well worth it for the stunning view of the whole of Phi Phi.

In the afternoon I booked on to a sunset boat trip which went around both Phi Phi Leh and Phi Phi Don. Our first stop was on Monkey island where we snorkelled and kayaked accross then spent some time with the friendly monkeys.

We did another 2 snorkelling stops, to Viking cave and then to Maya Bay, the loaction of the movie "The Beach". The boat can't go into the bay so it dropped us the other side of the rock and we had to swim to a small hole and climb through using ropes. This would have been quite fun had it not been for the huge waves and very strong current pushing us into the rocks. I found the swim there quite easy but the way back was the toughest water I've ever swam in, I was battling against the current and couldn't move any nearer the boat. A few minutes of this struggling got me so tired and I ended up doing a pathetic doggy paddle to get back on board. I thought I was an ok swimmer but I never want to do that again. Even some of the biggest blokes were having to get a boat back so I felt really proud I'd managed it.

Anyway, the swim was definately worthwhile to see the beach. its not completely enclosed like it is on the film but its beautiful. I could have spent a day there.

Unfortunately we didn't get to see a sunset due to the enormous amount of cloud but it was a good trip considering I only paid 4 pounds!!

Had a good evening out at the bars but got bitten to pieces worse than in the Cook Islands and thats saying something.
