hello from Taupo! Don't worry this isnt me in the yellow jump suit! we arrived in taupo yesterday evening and are staying at a wicked hostel. I've so far met 3 different bus loads of people whilst travelling on kiwi experience and they all seemed to be in the hostel bar when we got there. Today we've driven to waitomo on the way to Taupo for a one night stop over. hey, Thursday was our last day in Rotorua and I think we exhausted all the activities there. There seemed to be very little public transport which is a bit crappy when you're a backpacker. We didnt want to pay to go to a geothermal park but found one for free that we wandered around and it absolutely stank of sulphur which we could only take so much of. hey, I set off on the kiwi experience bus on monday morning and its pretty much non stop hence why there are fewer posts. On monday we travelled to Mercury Bay stopping off in some small beachy towns in the Coromandle region. Really wanted to get off here and explore so I could look up some family that have been buried in the cermetary but unfortunately the itinerary was quite packed and I didn't get a chance to.
