I woke up sad. I was leaving Alice springs and the quiet outback. It was time for city life and a flight to Brisbane.
The flight only took 2.5 hours. Looking out the window it just showed how isolated some places in Australia are. I wanna explore more of the outback.
So straight through the airport no customs and no showing your passport. Collected my bags and out the door. In fact anyone can just walk in them doors and up to the boarding gates.
I found my way to the air train and got a train to Roma street. It was a thirty minute train ride into Brisbane and then a 9 minute walk to the hostel.
The hostel looked good! It had a bar so all good there. I settled into my room and headed out down to the south bank. Lots were going on as it's their festival month. The embankment was bustling with people having picnics etc and the was even an outside pool that people were playing in. Further down there was a mini rain forest you could walk through.
Brisbane has a large wheel too. I would save that for tommorrow evening when I walk down there again.
Managed to get a couple of mozzie bites! Three days in the outback and bush I had none! Typical!
Headed back to the hostel and they had fish and chips and a beer on offer for $12. Had another pint and then went up to sort my bed and bags out.
Another earlyish night!!
