But first, we drove through the Swan Valley, heading north-east to the town of New Norcia - 'Australia's only Monastic Town' established in 1847 by the founder, Rosendo Salvado and the Benedictine Monks. We've spent just over a week in Perth, staying at a caravan park at Karrinyup on the north side of the city. We traveled for a day on public transport exploring the city sights - lovely Kings Park, London Court (felt like 'Diagon Alley out of Harry Potter, but no wands for sale!), and the usual city shops. There sure is a lot to see in this small corner of Western Australia! After leaving the forests behind, we drove down to the southerly point called Cape Leeuwin - where the 2 oceans meet: the Southern and Indian Oceans.
