We've spent just over a week in Perth, staying at a caravan park at Karrinyup on the north side of the city. We traveled for a day on public transport exploring the city sights - lovely Kings Park, London Court (felt like 'Diagon Alley out of Harry Potter, but no wands for sale!), and the usual city shops. Perth appears to have a very good public transport system with free buses doing loops around the city centre. The train track is in the centre of all the major highways.
At this time, we also updated my nursing requirements for WA so that I am ready to be available if a work opportunity presents itself.
Perth has a beautiful coastline with lots of beautiful beaches, so we toured from Sorrento Quay down to Fremantle, including the famous Cottesloe Beach, which had some interesting art sculptures on display. We had hoped to go to Rottnest Island, but the cost and the inclement weather changed our minds.
We met Alf's brother, Fred (here on business) and had a lovely afternoon/evening out at Fremantle. We also caught up with Joe & Cecile Vermeulen and enjoyed their church fellowship as well as a delicious African lunch out.
So now our time in Perth is drawing to a close and we're looking forward to heading north where we can camp in the bush or by the ocean and have a campfire - we haven't been able to have one since we left home!
