We are now in Albany, after a long drive and nice overnight stop at a freecamp called Norman's Beach - next to Betty's Beach!! The photo is taken from our camp site through lovely paperbark trees to an inlet from the ocean. We had a long walk along the beach, Alf fishing and me beachcombing. The cuttlefish here are so big - I found one as big as Alf's shoe! No luck with the fishing though.
We've just spent the day exploring Albany township and the surrounding area. Unfortunately, the natural bridge and 'gap' rock formations are closed as they are wearing away, but we were still able to explore the blowhole (blew Alf's hat off!) and also a lot of WW2 history as Albany has a big natural harbour where a lot of the warships were based as well as their whaling history.
Next we'll be moving on to the 'big tree forests'!!
