Merry xmas everyone! Hope you all had a lovely xmas day and santa brought you lots of nice pressys.
Well said goodbye to Namibia now. Loved it there as it was such a picturesque country and also had some good nights out! The quad biking in the desert was fantastic and the black binliner party was such a good laugh but one of the highlights for me was sleeping under the stars in Spitzkoppe and climbing the huge sand dune at 5am to watch the sunrise. God it wa 10 times harder than going to the gym but was well worth it once at the top. There was a cooked breakfast waiting for us at the bottom too. The next day we arrived at another campsite (called orange river, prince harry stayed there with his bird a few days earlier!!) and again decieded to sleep under the stars. That night is was meant to be our xmas do but not everyone was up for drinking so we sort of sacked off our group and went and joined these 6 south african blokes playing cards. They were a right laugh and showed us how to play proper drinking games! By the time in came to dinner though me and stephen were wrecked!
We arrived in Cape town on xmas eve morning and went on a township tour. We were shown around the shanti town where all the blacks live in poverty (this is where theres alot of gang crime aswell) But luckily everyone was really friendly with us and some even let us go inside their houses (if you can call them that, they were shocking) We had lunch in the middle of the shanty town at this place where they had a DJ on the decks (playing funky house music aswel! was well impressed!) Was mad, they brought you out a massive tray of meat then once you had eaten, they had you up dancing! (it was a bit like the courtyard parties at fibre in leeds!!!) We wanted to stay there but our guide had to get off. Anyways xmas eve night we all went out for a posh meal at a resturant looking over table top mountain then headed to one of the clubs near by.
Y'day we went down to the waterfront (trendy cosmopolitan place) and met up with Sabrina and Laura from the tour. We didnt really know what to do with ourselves with it being xmas day (didn't feel like it though) so we decided to go on a little boat ride then go food shopping and have a BBQ round at our place. (Weve proper dropped on with our guesthouse, its gorgeous! Had chocolates and beer waiting for us when we arrived and have our own pool!) Anyways we had a lovely BBQ (mum you would have been well impressed with the food we cooked!!) the owner of the guesthouse joined us for a few drinks too. Woke up with a banging headache today though from the wine!
Not really doing much today, going to go back to the pool for a bit then might go out for a meal or something later. Spending quite abit of money though so trying to watch what we spend bit more or will be home in a month or so!
Gutted im not with you girls for the best drinking day of the year today but will be thinking about you all getting hammered at xscape! (if i could get a flight over for the day id be there pronto!!) Hope you all have a fab day, although lets face it, would be miles better if i was there!!
Love to you all xxxxxxxxxxx
