So I haven't posted in a few days only because we've been so busy! After leaving Hanoi we took an overnight train to the sleepy fishing town of Hoi An- which we loved! We arrived late afternoon so just went for some food and a wander round on the first evening. The next day we bought a ticket to see a few of the sights round the town then hired bicycles out and rode to the closest beach which was beautiful. The nightlife here was pretty good and we enjoyed a night out:) Next was to Nha Trang on another night train- this time we had seats rather than a sleeper and it was not a very pleasant experience at all, Danny literally had no room to put himself! Nha Trang is the beach capital of Vietnam and has a wealth of high rise hotels all along the beach front. Naturally we headed to the beach first but storms soon came after an hour or so. We went for food that night in an amazing restaurant called Lanterns where we chose a 'hot pot', a beef and veg soup type dish which they cook in front of you, probably our best meal so far. The next day we visited Vin Pearl Land- a water and amusement park and had a great day out there also attending a seal and dolphin show <3. Yet another night train last night brought us to Ho Chi Minh City (or Saigon) a huge city where we only have one nights stay so not much time to visit the sights! Today we went to the Cu Chi tunnels, a site where you can visit the genuine underground tunnels the Viet Cong built and used in their war against the US. We went down one of the tunnels and it was tiny! We also had a go at firing AK47 guns which Danny absolutely loved! We are heading out of Vietnam and on to Cambodia tomorrow so will be doing another post in a couple of days!
