What a palaver leaving the hotel this morning!

I wrote in my blog yesterday about the inefficiency of the hotel key cards, well this morning they reduced Colin to boiling point!

We once again took the stairs for breakfast and struggled to gain entry back into our room: so we were prepared for problems trying to get down to the garage with a pile of bags and this proved correct. Our key card would only let us go down to the Reception so we checked out and also paid the reduced rate for the parking. We then walked down the 1 flight of stairs to the garage; this is where our problems really began.

We couldn't access the garage without a key card so I walked back up to collect one, but on trying to use it it wouldn't work. This time Colin went back up and was told he could only access the garage via the lift, so he duly fought with the lift only to find that it was such a busy time for people finishing breakfast and returning to their rooms or people leaving the hotel it took him an age to actually get a lift down and then discovered that he couldn't access through to me and the bags, so he had to go back in the lift and come down the stairs; then walk back up the stairs to start the process again; where upon the lift starting ascending not descending!! The air was blue and his reactions could have led to us being trapped in a broken lift and fixing a huge fine!

We eventually made it down to the bike and tried to leave the car park but you can probably guess that our validated parking ticket didn't work: thankfully there was a guard on standby who after verifying our ticket released the barrier! I'm sure some one like Lee Evans could make a very funny sketch about it!

We have now arrived at a very nice and relaxing hotel by the Lake with only one incident with a Romanian pratt on the way; Colin's t-shirt certainly suited his bad driving.
