The first full day in New Orleans was as amazing as the few hours yesterday. Got up earlyish and headed down for breakfast in the hotel that was included in our rate. I was surprised to find a selection of southern staples such as biscuits and homestyle gravy, grits, and the usual sausage, bacon, eggs abs waffles. Today was the longest drive of the whole trip at 333 miles from Houston to New Orleans. It may seem a long journey to do in one day but there are plenty of things to see along the road. The sat-nav was our guide for the day and it took us north of Houston in to a major farming area to head up and along to the I-10.
