Safely arrived in Nairobi to our absolute disbelief. RwandAir not at all as bad as we anticipated, the wheels contained air and the wings were attached. Although our stay in Kigali (Rwanda) was short and sweet, it seems that Rwanda from the air only has one road containing asphalt.

Couldn't find the burnt down airport in Nairobi and am a little concerned, as I seemed to be more excited spotting a Spur than having giraffes grazing on the side of the runway.

Staying at the Heron Hotel. Felt a little like we were colonials back in the 1960's but did find the toilet paper stuffed in the open electric socket rather comforting.

Was able to use wifi, had phone signal and Liverpool were playing on the TV. That's more success than I was having in London ;-)
