Adventures with Andrea and John
Wow we went on a tour of the central business district of Christchurch today and all I can say is wow about the level of devastation still present today. Lots of buildings condemned and lots of empty lots where buildings once were. All the old heritage buildings gone sure is a great loss. We went to see what was left of the Cathedral and went to see the transitional one built out of mostly cardboard. We also saw an outdoor art exhibit of 185 white chairs on 185 sq m. of grass representing the 185 people lost in the earthquake. We were also entertained by a group of Maori street dancers. Afterwords we drove to the New Zealand Air Force Museum. Andrea took a break from walking and I went to look at all the old aircraft and related stuff they have there.
