After our day out at the Blue
Mountains, Sally, Ruth and me were using the internet in the hostel entrance when we heard a scuffle above our heads and through a hole in the ceiling tiles, Sally saw a mouse/rat! I think we are leaving this hostel just in time!
The next day we happily checked out and stored our bags. The hostel ended up a lot cheaper than we thought due to a mix up at check-in, we only ended up paying our deposit of £25 for a 10 night stay over Christmas and New Year. Bonus! Especially as we should have been paying 10 times that each! It was nice for our longest stay in a place to end up the cheapest!
We set out and took the boat to Manly beach for the day. Sally and me hit the beach while Jade and Ruth went for a look around the town. The weather was beautiful, but the sea was freezing again! The waves were massive so all the surfers were out and the area available to swim in was tiny! I don't think you could really swim in it, but it was good fun to jump through the huge waves!
That evening we packed our stuff and took the bus to Coogee as we were staying the night at Mel and Dave's house. Natasha and Isaac have kindly given up their rooms for us to take over with all our stuff!
We tried to book our trains to go to the farm in Barraba to work for the next couple of weeks, but it was all booked up so we have had to book it for the day after. Luckily Mel came to our rescue again and said we could stay another night at her house, even though her and the kids are going away on holiday. We are so grateful! Plus it will be nice to use a decent shower and stay in a lovely house for another night! Thanks Coombes family! :)
