New day new country.. We got a taxi to the airport, we sure got ripped off when we came last time with everyone. Having a taxi on the meter is def the way forward for Bangkok was only 200 bhat to the airport. Think we paid 1000 last time for the 5 of us.
Flew from DMK to Macau! Weird when you land it looks like you've landed in the sea. Had a bit of a nightmare when we got in the taxi- the man could speak no English and just kept shouting at me when I showed him the address. He had a list of hotels with the Chinese conversion I pointed at ours he confirmed it 3 times and we set off. He pulled up outside the wrong hotel ! Managed to get the hotel staff to tell him where we needed to go which was pretty much back by the airport. Had an argument when we got out but mart just paid him to make him go away. We're staying in tapia then there's 2 bridges that lead into Macau city.
Our room has a view across the water looking at the Macau tower and MGM and the Wynn etc.
we spent a while getting ready (first time I've worn make up in months!) then caught the lack bus to the venitican (it's not far)! Just like Vegas it's just stunning! It's right next to a hotel called galaxy which I've never seen anything so big.
The minimum hands on the tables are outrageous! We played a bit of roulette I was keeping mart in check and made him walk away when we we're $200 up. We went and had dinner at this really nice Chinese restaurant. Pottered around the shops and then hit some bars. The one ballaria had a live band on that we're really good. Used our winnings for a few cocktails!
However when we we're walking out to go home mart put $100 on red when I wasn't looking and lost. Idiot.
Taxi back to the hotel - very late night for us 1am!!
Had breakfast then a nap..can't handle being out past 10:30pm these days.. Got the hotel shuttle over the bridge to Macau city! First stop Macau tower!!
To say that's the highest bungy jump in the world I was not impressed. I'd jump off there without a second thought it's meant to be scary! If it wasn't so expensive I'd have done it just for a laugh.
After that we hit the grand Lisboa. It's my favourite looking hotel and all it's decor reminds me of the great gatsby..we played lots of roulette. Mostly lost! Then sat at the grand stage bar which was delightful had loads of really short shows whilst you we're drinking. The money we saw being put down was outrageous. $10000 for 5 hands which lasted about 15 and people didn't even seem sad that they'd lost it!
We went hunting for patches and pins and walked around the beautiful city with it's Portuguese feel- surprisingly warm. It was crazy busy around the ruins of St. Paul - luckily or mart I wasn't here to see the culture.
From there we went to the Wynn then the MGM look exactly the same as Vegas except you can smoke inside. Which is really strange not sure I like it! The inside of the MGM was amazing - the lobby was like an underwater scene with jellyfish dangling from the ceilings and a giant fish tank tube in the middle.
We went and had dinner just outside the Wynn..we then went back to the Lisboa more drinks then headed back to the Wynn to watch the fountain show! Had a song from Pocahontas on- made me feel 8 years old again. Lots of photos of the bright lights! We we're going to go into a club but mart had flip flops on.
Taxi back to the hotel - I don't know if the beds just really comfortable but I wake up so tired!
We got the hotel shuttle to the pier and brought tickets for our ferry to Hong Kong!
