The place we stayed in the last night of huay xai was just vile. There was bed bugs in the first room mart didn't understand why I was making such a big deal but there was no chance I was sleeping in there. So we moved. So so hot - never realised the difference between a room with a fan and air con! We had breakfast struggled to find a tuk tuk to take us to the airport. Weirdest airport I've ever been to. So the beginning of our journey to huay xai was horrendous..I'm pretty sure that journey shouldn't even be legal. The big bus was off roading like a Jeep would. The amount of times we cringed hearing the bus make awkward noises hitting the ground..about 4 hours into this off roading journey we began to fear the worst that the whole 13 hours would be like this. There was no hope of sleep as it was mainly clinging onto your chair to prevent falling off, however aft...

We returned back from sapa on the overnight train mostly spent playing cards with our cabin mates..after realising the hotel had charged us too much for the sapa trip and an extra $20 for the bus I was not happy. I was tired cranky dirty and ready to blow when I saw the woman. She gave me the usual rubbish about how I was mistaken but I wasn't in the mood.
