We stop in the town before leaving Katherine. It is 10 am and the local market is in full swing. We love a market and it is our lucky day as there is a biltong man! Mark cannot wait to leave the campsite at Nitmiluk. I take the kids to the pool while Mark finishes the tent pack up. The tent pack up at Edith Falls seems easy despite the heat. We restock our food at Katherine and drive the 30 km to the Nitmiluk campsite arriving around lunchtime. It's stinking hot and humid. Hello from Edith Falls. We arrive around 10:30 and book ourselves into the campground. Emily is asleep so we quickly get to work putting up the tent. We get a call from BCF at 9:30 in the morning. Our tent poles have arrived. We pick them up, stock up on food and head for Kakadu. This is the third time in 4 days we drive this stretch of the Arnhem highway. We are pretty familiar with the scenery.
