If you are looking for a nice place to relax with helpful locals, good food and sunshine manaus is the perfect place to come to for a couple of days.
We have had a really good day and completely recharged after our day from hell yesterday. After a quick taxi ride from the station we arrived at our hostel which seemed alright but nothing spectacular. With a little persuasion the price was dropped and we were given our room which was not the ritz but we have a shower so we are happy. After a couple of days not washing we both needed one.
A little washing and a make shift washing line was made before we went an spoke to the tourist information. We have an amazon tour booked for tomorrow and we even have a flight booked for 5 day in advance. For us that is rather organised so we are proud of ourselves.
We treated ourselves to a pay the kilo lunch which had some of the best steak we have ever tried. With access to money we also had a self service ice cream and sat in the local square looking at the monuments and the theatre. With the sun out it was really nice so ventured into the marketplace for a wander and a look around.
To finish our day we ended up trying to stock up for tomorrows jungle trek so had a two person lasagna which was the size of a dinner tray. It was massive and tasted so good that we finished it all off having seconds and thirds.
