As accommodation was so expensive I decided to escape Sydney for the Blue Mountains.
I walked from the Blue mountains hostel in Katoomba to Echo Point, 3 sisters, princess pass and Katemba falls. I paid $14 to go up the highest/steepest railway in the world. It was really exhilarating and breathtaking views for the 5 sec ride. Apparently the name Blue Mountains comes from the glow from the type of trees that grow there. Unfortunately damage from the so typical fires could be seen around. The views were still amazing though.
I got back to the hostel and met 2 lovely Canadian ladies there, we enjoyed dinner and pool together. The next day they drove us to Wentworth falls where we started the Australian national pass route which was spectacular!!
We had lunch in the park, the girls were kind enough to drop me off at the station to catch my train back to Central station in Sydney.
