Koh Pangan
We arrived back in bangkok safely and I was very imprssed with air asia, no bumps for once!!! We had an hour before our train left we dived into a taxi and made it just on time we were legging it for the train and got on just as it was leaving, there were no sleeper beds left so we had a seat for 13 hours which we thought would be hell but we actually slept really well and got to Surat Thani it took about 13 hours then from Surat Thani to the port took about an hour and then the boat to Koh Pangan 3 hours. All in all we had travelled and waited around for 26 hours and we were pretty wreked!
We arrived mid after noon in koh pangan and headed to the north west which is real quiet and chilled with some incrediable beaches. We stayed at a place called lucky resort for 4 nights at £5 a night it had its own pool and we had a cute little hut with a hamock out side.
After having a lush nights sleep we got up early and rented a bike to check out the island and what a island it is with over 30 beaches we were spoilt for choice, we headed to the south east and chilled on the beach all day, the roads here are a bit crazy, so steep and dusty, we had a few close calls but we made it!
We had been toying with the idea of the full moon party for so long, the full moon party only happens once a month and is basically a massive beach rave! We didnt really know if we would enjoy this massive party we just imagned people being wasted and drugs flying around everwhere but to our surprise we loved every single second of it and so glad we manged to make it. We met some people at out resort one of them being from south wales cymbran who was a legend we had a few beers at our resort and all headed south to hadd rin to the party. We got there about 10pm and saw a dedicated sleeping area which there was already a guy passed out and had over dine it one hour into the party!!!! what a plonker!
I heard the pumping house music and got all excited it took me back to the days of gatecrasher (a massive dance club for peope who dont know!!!) when I was 18. We got dancing straight away. A guy told us there was about 20.000 people there. There were people of all ages all nationalitys and races.
We got chatting to loads of people and danced all throught the night, the music was unreal I thought it would be one massive sound system but there were laods so if you didnt like the misic place you just walked 1 minte across the beach and hear something completey different. Me and mich got home when the sun was coming up went for a quick dip in the pool and hit the sack, we were lightweights going home at 5am as our mate from south wales stayed till 4 in the afternoon!
The next couple of days I got food postioing and couldnt keep anything down so that wasnt great but mich was great and looked after me.
Hopefully if im feeling better tomorrow we will to head off to koh tao which is north of koh pangan, this is the place for diving and snorkeling so we are told, cant wait! Little bit scared about the sharks I must say especially as dad told me a horrifying story about a barcarcuda when he was snokeling in tropical waters!
