Chaing mai
After 18 hours on the train traveling to north Thailand we finally reached chaing mai,We slept in a second class sleeper from Bangkok to Chaing Mai it was worth it as its cheap and you have your own bed, mishee slept as she always does!! , We woke up to amazing views of north Thailand over breakfast. We got to our hotel and met our trekking group, then walked into Chaing Mai to the night market ,one word, spectacular. People didn't hassle us like they did in Bangkok they just let you look which was great, we did purchase a few items for the trek. We worked on our bartering and we got better and better, it was a lot of fun and got some bargains. The night Bazaar is a massive market little mishee was is shopping heaven. We also treated ourselves to a Thai foot and neck massage! Paying only 2 pounds for the best massage of our lives!
Trekking in the Jungle
The next day we woke up and travelled into the jungle with our new found friends, an Irish couple, a Dutch couple and 2 Swedish girls. The first day we rode elephants, splashed in waterfalls and camped with a hill tribe, was absolutely unreal! There was a massive thunderstorm which worked in our favour as it cooled things down a lot, but prevented a good nights sleep! The next day we trekked for 3 hours in the rain further into the jungle to our waterfall camp. Adsie ate an ant, he says it tasted like sweets, I will take his word for it! In the nights we sat round playing games and Michele learnt my hat has 4 corners in dutch every one was very impressed!
Our tour guides were called woody and rambo they made the trip for us as they were always laughing and joking and they took great care of us.
Last night i went to muay thai kickboxing and mich went to have a massage, the thai kickboxing is awsome i had ring side seats. the first fight was two 10 year olds and no joke i wouldnt of had a chance!!! they use knees, shins elbows well everything!
