After a fantastic visit in Ireland it was off to England to meet another old friend from SF, Adriana. I hadn't seen Adriana for 4.5 years when she had moved to the UK.
Went straight into her office where I got to meet up with Fred Westcott, my ole pal from Sydney! We grabbed a beer and caught up til Adriana was done for the day.
After work we headed back to Adriana's hood in Camden. I dropped my stuff and we returned out for grub and drink. After our lovely Malaysian dinner we found ourselves at a Camden jazz club taking advantage of that night's special of 6 tequila shots for £10... Ouch indeed. But ended up meeting some fellas from Nashville, who had just wrapped up there set. After consuming the 6th and final shot we thought it best to come check out their gig the following day. With cordial goodbyes we went back to Adriana's place and crashed out.
Thursday I was left to my own devices for the day. I walked around Camden, checked out the market, and dined at a local vegan cafe, before heading into the city to meet up with Adriana. We walked through Various neighborhoods, Soho, Chinatown, the West end. We ate at an awesome French restaurant before heading to the gig. Not exactly what we had expected... I'm talking slow, down home, Nashville Country music. In the end, we had a pretty good time, particularly laughing at (not with) their perverted, Scottish band manager.
Friday, was upon us and we were bound for the country. Adriana and I were taking the train out to Canterbury to meet up with LOZ!!! My lovely friend from Australia!
We met up and quickly hit the town with her and her girlfriends. We had a fantastic night of dancing, laughing, and plenty of cocktails and then headed back to her massive house. In the morning I was introduced to the concept of 'greasy spoon'. Where have I been??
We returned back to the house for a good veg session while we waited for Adrian's arrival, at last.
Fab time with the ladies for sure!
