In a small seaside town in SE England lives my childhood friend Markku with his lovely wife Hannan and their 4 (yes 4!!!) beautiful children. We spent a long wknd with them at their house and took in the sites in and around New Romney; including, but not limited to the following: Sainsbury's grocery store where we purchased the Foster's cases you see in the attached photo, a quaint country pub in town on a rowdy Saturday night (READ: deserted), the St. John kitchen where we dined on a fantastic traditional Sunday evening roast prepared by Hannan, the park down the street where we played (American) football and tag with the kids, the St. John living room couch where we watched NFL games via the Internet only to see both the Raider's and 49ers snatch defeat out of the jaws of certain victory (Packer's victory brings a smile to G's face, at least!), the Castle at Dover from which we could see coastal France, the secret military tunnels on the castle grounds where the British orchestrated many significant missions during WWII, toured the picturesque Canterbury Cathedral, and, last but not least, ate pizza with our good friend Aus, Lauren "Loz" Jones. Huge thanks for the hospitality, company, and transportation to Markku, Hannan, Jannan (thanks for letting us use your room, dear!!), Nolam, Oren and Rowan!!!
