Life on the Farm!! A mere 12 hour drive from the hustle, bustle and mayhem of New Orleans is a tiny oasis in the Ozark Mountains called Thomas Hollow. In this Hollow there is a creek where fish, crawdads and velvet ants frollock and there is a wood where armadillos, snakes and foxes dance. Along this creek and through the wood there is a road where butterflies flutter and wasps, bees and fireflies go about their buzzy business. Next to this road is a farm with a few cows, goats, pigs and a bunch of chickens. On this farm is a small house where a wonderful little family lives. This family conisists of a "Momma", "Poppi" and 2 sweet little boys; "Hux-man" and "Rolly Pole". The family passes the hot summer days exploring the creek, studying the animals and insects that live in the creek and in the wood and tending to the farm animals and plants. With these animals and plants they make meals that are both delicious and healthy for their bodies and the environment. The family is kind, welcoming and generous to visitors and very, very loving to each other and the place they live. Thank goodness there are places and people like this still!!
Thanks so much to Alisen, Caleb, Huxley and Roland for a great few days on the farm and for showing us your little oasis!!
