I'm currently awaiting for Earl to wake up so thought I would update my faithful readers on our time in Ho Chi Minh City, or how everyone knows it Saigon.

Things didn't get off to a great start, our bus from Mu Nie to Saigon was supposed to pick us up at 1.30am and it didn't pick us up until aroiund 3am. But eventually we got to Saigon at about 8am and checked into a hostel.

We opted to book a few tours for the coming days, one to the Cu Chi tunnels and another to the delta of the Mekong river and also got our bus sorted to Phnom Penh in Cambodia. In total we were going to be spending three full days and two nights in Saigon. That afternoon we started our own little tour of the city. At first we went too the finicial tower, we didn't go up to the top as this was pretty exensive, but we got a few photos from the bottom. The next stop was the opera house, followed by the revolutionary musuem which pretty much bored me to sleep. We went on from here to the reunification Palace which was ok, and then went to the war museum which was really good. I still can't fully get my head around the vietnam war but the museum is a real eye opener as to what happened and it just makes you think what d*** the Americans were (sorry to any American readers). After a long day we went back fro a power nap before hitting the town, we bumped into Arianne, a girl from Canada we origanally met in Hanoi and went out for a few beers with her, a chap from Coventry called Ben, a girl from Ipswich called Em and a bloke from L.A called Devo. We had an eventfull night drinking cocktails, buckets and beers. But it ended far too early as Devo was going Singapore early the next day and Em was going Thailand.

The next day we took a bus to the Cu Chi tunnels. This was preety interesting to find out how Viet Com (The Viatnemese Liberation Army) fought in the war, our tour guide Mr Thung was also pretty crazy, always singing and making strange noises. It was a pretty good day out. The next night we went out hoping to bump into Arianne and Ben again, unfortunately this didn't happen but we did bump into a couple of Aussie birds, one of which said I looked like Daiel Craig, she must have been a bit partially sighted. We then met two girls from Birmingham, Hollie and Sarah. We stayed with them for the rest of the night playing ring of fire with buckets of cocktails. Things got a little drunken and because of this we missed our trip to the Mekong Delta the next day. Because we missed the trip we decided to go and see what China Town had to offer. The answer to that was nothing apart from one Chinese hotel, one Chinese shop and a gold statue of a dragon. The rest just looked like a fruit market. We decided to kill a few hours and go for a few cheeky games of pool. When we got back we chilled out for a while having a walk around the park and then went out for a few beers. We ended up bumping into Hollie and Sarah again and playing ring of fire with buckets again. This probably wasn't a great idea as we had a bus to get at midnight to Phnom Penh in Cambodia. A bus we nearly missed. Luckily though we made it and I can confirm we have arrived safe in Phnom Penn, I have no idea how long we are to spend here yet, so will update you on events here in due time.
