So after Siem Reap we headed back to Bangkok. The bus to Bangkok might have been the worse bus we have caught so far on our travels. The bus was so uncomfatable and it didn't help that the driver was speeding across speed bumps firing us in to the air to make almost impossible to sleep. It got even better after the border crossing, being crammed into a mini bus for the remainder of our 4 hour journey. Earl was pretty happy though as he got to sit next to a lady boy for this duration.
That afternoon we checked into a hostel and decided to treat ourself to an air-conditioned room as it is ridiculously hot out here. We then caught up on some sleep before heading out to party on Kao San Road and watch the Manchester derby. But the least we say on that subject the better. But it's fair to say I went home a disapointed and angry man.
The next day we woke up and booked our bus down south to Kao Phan Ngan (unsure on spelling) where we heading next for what is meant to be the craziest party ever - The Full Moon Party. After this we made our way to the MBK Shopping centre where Earl wanted to treat himself to a new digital camera as his broke and also watch the Avengers film which had just been released. In fairness it was a pretty good film, but the adverts before stole the show as these were ridiculously funny and bonkers. I also found it strange that before every film you have to stand up and pay your respects to the king as they play the national anthem and a video montage of the king's life. I couldn't see this going down well in England if we had to do that for the queen. I also got excited at seeing the release date for the American Reunion film. A film I will definitley be going to see when it is released in Singapore. Once we got back and showered and changed we decided to go and see a 'ping pong show' as we thought going to Thailand and not seeing this show would be like going to Pizza Hut and not getting a Pizza. Although the show was kind of pricey we got too see women doing crazy stuff with there vaginas, this included opening bottles, smoking cigarettes, firing darts at balloons, writing, blowing out candles on birthday cakes and firing ping pong balls, we also got to see a live sex demonstartion which was kind of weird. After this we decided to head back to Kao San Road for more drinks and cocktails, after hitting a few bars, dancing with lady boys trying to use the lady boy vouchers work had kindly provided me, we called it a night. (We were unsuccesful in our attempt to use the vouchers by the way)
This then brings us to today, where we have not done much apart from sleep, buy some sunglasses and a book and the plan is to just generally chill out before our bus to our next destination which is going to take a nice 17 hours! Hopefully this bus will be better than the bus to Bangkok.
Anyway I hope everyone is ok back home and the weather is not to bad.
Stay safe and take care
Adi
