So as I told you I was writing my last three blogs in Phonm Penh. I guess a lot of you were wondering we were back there? Was there friends of ours there? Were there ladies there? Did we forget something? Did we like the town that much? Well the truth is we had to go back to Phnom Penh because the roads in Cambodia are not that well developed and there was no road between Sihanoukville and Siam Reap, so we had to go back to Phnom Penh to get a bus.
We went back to 19 Happy Guest House, who were made up to see us again, as soon as we returned we were made to feel like royalty. The owner Alex promptly decided to stop working and get drunk with us, as did another worker Chom Nam. We did pretty much what we did the last time we were in Phnom Penh, got drunk, and played pool for beers. It was a brilliant night, Alex even had the chefs make us some free food, which turned out to bee some expensive Australian Beef and Chom Nam brought some squid and chicken liver for us to try. Alex passed out pretty early, but we continued on into the early hours drinking with Chom Nam, Vary, Alex's Wife and two Essex girls Abbie and Kara.
We woke up and went to check out, but were greeted with an offer we didn't expect. Alex's brother-in-law is getting married on the 27th April and we were invited to the wedding where there would be free food, free drinks and apparently free ladies. Alex even offered us free accomodation until the wedding. I have to admit my head was turned, I really wanted to stay, but we moved on knowing that we only have a few more weeks left in Asia and there is a lot more we want to see and get done. So we said our farewells and caught the bus to Siam Reap.
Alex still had a trick up his sleeve though, as when we arrived at Siam Reap there was a big sign (I say big sign it was more like A4 paper) saying welcome to Siam Reap Adi Murphy and Earl Johnson. He had gone and got us a free tuk tuk pick up to take us to find some accomodation. Alex was jsut a brilliant guy and went out of his way to help us at all times, if any of you visit Phnom Penh in Cambodia you should definitley stay at 19 Happy Guest House.
Anyway that is all for today, I will update you on Siam Reap ionce we have completed our stay here.
Take care and stay safe
Adi
