cakes, cakes, cakes......i love st. kilda!!! yup so many fancy cakes shops one after the other...just gotta try them, it wouldn't be right not to! so between all the cake we did manage to see a few things! took a day trip to phillip island to see the penguin parade.... great day , they took us on a wine tour first, then to a wildlife park where you could get seriously close to the animals.....fed the roos- adele got pounced on by an eager roo! then onto phillip island itself where you can go on a wooden boardwalk to view the coastline and hunt for penguins and seals......this walk way happens to be smack bang in the middle of a sea gull nesting ground so you're dodging birds from all directions whilst trying to catch a glimpse of the penguins! if you look under the walkways you can find them...so tiny...they are the worlds smallest penguin in fact. then after that we went to the actual penguin parade- takes place at sunset on the beach....have to keep your eyes peeled to spot them as they come surfing in......so funny, one by one they turn up and wait in the surf till there's a small group...still some waiting then finally one of them makes a dash up the beach then they all follow!! over 500 a night turn up in small groups. you can sit and watch this as the sun goes down then walk up past their nesting grounds to see them up close and hear them singing or squarking more like to each other. great stuff.
next we had a neighbours night......got to see dr karl kenedy with his band...so random and cheesey! also saw marco, dan, stingray, rachael and janelle!!!!! wow i love neighbours!!!! lots of photo ops!!!! great night....but i couldn't hear a thing at the end of it, my ears were ringing for the whole of the next day too...dr karl burst my ear drums he was so good!!!
next ...an early start with heavy heads to go on the neighbours street tour......turns out they were filming that day so couldn't get down into the street, but got to see some filming action with bridget and declan. stood by the ramsey street sign...cool!
next....the great ocean road tour......oh so very early start 6am or something stupid like that!!!! all i'm gunna say is we had a really random tour guide with crazy hair that i think looked like marv out of that home alone movie, and then just rocks, rocks, rocks,.......i'll let adele fill you in on that!!!!!! claire

Claire beat me to the blog, thats a first. Phillip Island was great i couldnt believe the wee penguins just appear on the shore and hop up the beach to their nests. I did get the fright of my life while feeding a baby Roo this big massive Roo comes bouncing full speed up to me! Yikes i gave it the food and moved swiftly away.
Claire loves CAKE incase anyone didnt know that already. I had a meringue the size of my head and it was pink. Tasted good too. St Kilda does good cakes. Its a very chilled out place and Cooee Hostel was great, comfy beds.
Neighbours night was the highlight of this week, Dr Karls band were actually very good. Mostly cover songs and he took my hnad while singing and kissed it! haha The Ramsey Street tour was fun but we didnt get right in the street but as claire said we got to see some filming.
Wednesday was the longest day of my life. Left at 7am and didnt get back till 10pm on our Great Ocean Road tour. The tour guide NEVER i mean NEVER shut up. Constantly on his wee microphone telling us info and useless info. Highlight of the day was seeing wild Koalas and Parrots.
