We are on week three at National Park Village. So thought we should update you all on our activites. Work has been ok just cleaning rooms and the dinning areas and kitchen. I think we are expert bed makers now. But i hate cleaning the bathrooms. Me and claire got to do some landscaping last week. Out in the lovely sunshine digging up the ground and planting stuff. Good fun and silly Claire managed to get sunburn!!!!!!! not me! It was hard work and our muscles were hurting the next day.

Wednesday last week was Seans last night so the Sarah that works at the bar took us out to a glow worm spot. Its a bit of road that had been dug into the ground, not quite a cave. It was really amazing to see some many glow worms.

We have had a trip to Turangi to get food shopping and then have a very delicious steak pie from the baker shop.

The lodge had a big xmas party in last week so we all had to work longs silly hours to help set up and clean away the party. More hours hopefully means money in our pockets!

Sunday we all packed in The Park minibus and headed for Taupo. The boys went to see James Bonds while the girls had Pizza Hut(in the rain) and went and did some xmas shopping.

The new photos i have put up show our fun night around the village doing the scavanger hunt....... very funny. Jess the star that she is made up a Scavenger hunt for us. Doing silly fun games around the village. My team won the triva quiz because i somehow knew that Muhammad is the most popular boys name in the world and that coca cola is infact green! So all my years taking part in pub quizs paid off.

We had a great day yesterday Sarah took us White Water Kayaking. I really wasnt sure about going as i pictured fast rapids and me falling into the river. Turns out the river is pretty calm and the rapids are great fun. I was teamed up with Taylor( i said sorry before we even got into the boat as im pretty weak) But we actually made a good team after a few rock hitting incidents at the start we did well........untill we came down a rapid and i fell out........ another rapid we came down and slammed into Jess and Steph sideways and the next thing i know is that in in the water under the boat, luckly there was a nice little pocket of air so no need to panic. Also turns out Taylor was in the exact same position at the back on the boat. Jess was screaming for someone to flip the boat as me and Taylor had not appeared yet. Oh the fun! i was fine as was Taylor and i just couldnt stop laughing. Claire decided to join the others jumping off a rock but she in now regreting it as she has bad ear ache.

After our 2 hours on the water we finished and had a bbq by the river with a few beers. Just what we needed.

Today Jen and Jess leave for Wellington which is sad as we get on so well. Hopefully we can meet with them down in the south island in January.
