Adam and Lu's travels
Well, we finally ledt the mountains after much reluctance, as we were enjoying the climate and still recovering from our climb.
Adam was hoping for some surf and i was looking forward to the promise of unspoiled beaches.
When we arrived, Adam discovered that the accomodation that we had booked was not going to be up to my standards or his for that matter. We were afraid that we might be left homeless because it was the Easter break - Semana Santa, when all the city dwellers head to the costal towns. Luckily we got picked up by a Local American Surfer who had what he described as a Casita at the bottom of the garden. It was basically a glorified tin shed with an upstairs platform, but actually it was new a and it had some pretty funky interior, including a sofa which is a total luxury for us. Check out the picture.
Needless to say there was no swell, but we had a good beach day, even if it did mean that i threw a fit when i had to walk for half an hour through thick clay barefoot, because my flip flops kept getting stuck in the mud - no pictures of that i am afraid, i was too angry!
In order not to get bored we hired some bikes, and decided to ride 13 kilometres to Drago. That was interesting on bikes with no gears! It was not too hilly though and we got there eventually after the Chain on Adam's bike snapped twice. Luckily he had his penknife and combined with a stone was able to fix it. The 13 kilometres return journey was uneventful thankfully!
Off to San Jose next...
