So.... its been a long time since we updated yall on our whereabouts ... mainly due to the lack of communication devices and their expense in Samoa.. Surf Camps...... home for 3 weeks - paradise surf resorts all inclusive although had basic accomodation, where high tide nearly soaked the mattress, we were so close to the beach! Most Samoan's (samoans are huge people with feet like 20 oz steaks...and thats just the women!) live in open huts, with walls that can be lowered made from dried banana tree leaves! So that's what we slept in too. The noise of the waves kept Lu awake most of the night, but soothed Adam's ears at least! Check out the piccies Surf was pretty epic.....ranging from 5-15ft faces!.....everyday involved getting in a boat and getting out to off-shore reefs to surf crystal clear water (28 deg C) above live sharp coral reef...only a few scrapes were had!.....however samoa is not the most consistent location for surf.....as one might expect being out in the middle of the pacific. best snorkelling ever....so many fish.....Dad this probably sounds boring to you!!...... Waterfalls, sliding rocks and giant blowholes were all amazing too. All in all a relaxing destination, with truly beautiful scenery, extremely friendly people (although very religious and even bury their dead folks outside their own houses!) and a great place to top up the tan if you can be bothered! Things to watch out for..... Aussie Christians out to convert the world and convince one to let God into ones heart! We have resisted so far!
