We are currently docked in Athens, Greece and the weather is absolutely boiling. The plan was that we got time off today to look around Athens and wouln't start work until 6pm. However, at 8am, a message came over the speakers into all of our cabins from the captain saying that we have arrived in Greece but no-one can leave the ship yet as taxi's were blocking all the port exits because of all the trouble and riots that have been going on in Greece recently. We were told that they would try and resolve the issue with the Greek authorities so that all the passengers and crew could have the chance to get off the ship later on.
At 3pm we were told it couldn't be resolved so we had a ship full of annoyed guests that we now had to entertain so instead of spending the day off, i've spent it setting up alot of skating sessions and band events all around the ship, what a mess! From the deck of the ship, it looks amazing out there but it just doesn't make sense to me why all 9 of the cruise ships docked here are not allowed to let anyone off especially when one of the problems in Greece at the moment is the economy. Luckily, we should be returning here in October so i'll hopefully still get the chance to get off at some point.
I have taken loads of photos so far but can't put them on here until I can get wifi for my laptop so i'll post them up as soon as possible.
Last night I got the chance to have a go on the ice-rink and wish I had brought my skates with me, it was great fun especially when the ship went through some rough sea and all ten or so of us just sort of slid to one end of the rink.
We are now just setting off early for Turkey because of the situation here and should arrive early tommorow morning. Got more time off tommorow so all of the cast and crew are planning to go to a giant water park in Kusadasi which should be good fun. What other job can you wake up every morning in a different country, its amazing!
Hope everyone back there is well and will keep you posted soon :)

Eva & Stephen (although he's gone to see final sta Adam, it is interesting to read your frustration about the Greek issue. Great to witness how your international job is throwing many different experiences at you, one of which is being so directly exposed to the highest profile current affair threatening the world economy right now. It is like watching history from the font row! keep blogging...
