Some other activities we did in cuya beno included the bird watching. More nature walks and also hunting for sloths and anacondas. Jorge would always say that you couldn't have expectations of seeing animals because we are in the jungle - not in a zoo.
We were in cuya beno during the wet season which is not the best time for seeing wild life but at the same time it is more beautiful with more water and fuller lakes and there is also less Mosquitos when it is wet.
I was really happy with the amount of wild life we saw. We saw river dolphins, various birds, insects and monkeys, caught plenty of piranhas and seen some amazing flora and fauna too. Andy was super captivated by the amount of ants and there activity around the lodge. As he studied zoology at uni he was a wealth of knowledge and great to be around a guy who appreciated the time in there equally as much as I did.
Packed up and said goodbye to our beautiful amazon lodge.
Long journey by motor canoe and then by truck back to town where we were keen to get organized and straight on a bus that evening to Quito.
What a surreal location spent in great company with what I can honestly describe as one of my best friends. Bused it that evening to Quito where i decided to only really stay half a night and kick onto Cali in southern Columbia to combine forces with niggz. Very excited !
Had one of south Americas most talked about border crossings to come first but !!!
