Today has been a looooooonnnnnnnnggggggggggg day!!! We were up at 5am, well, that's a lie actually! We left Nungwi Beach at 5am so were up before that! Particularly as we hadn't packed the night before! Good job we don't have much stuff with us! We then took our good old air conditioned bus back to Stone Town for the 7am boat back to Dar es Salaam. Whilst eating breakfast we noticed 3 travellers that are staying in the same place. They had been sat around for a while, 2 men and a woman. The men went off swimming but came back only 10 minutes later and one of them was hopping and only able to walk if half carried by his friend! As he got closer we could see that his ankle was really swollen and red and looked very painful, he had trodden on a sea urchin! Ouch!!! We're going snorkelling this afternoon ...

Nungwi beach today…VERY excited!!! This is supposed to be a highlight of the whole tour, blinding white sands, crystal blue waters teeming with tropical fish and nothing to do but relax and enjoy it for 2 whole days!!! The drive north was really pretty. We passed all sorts of little villages and it was very tropical and jungle like. Last night we all packed some essentials into smaller backpacks to take with us to Zanzibar for 3 days. The truck, and Vincent, will be staying behind. I'm gutted for Vincent as he's always the one to stay behind when the tour guide and translator go to the island but he's been there before so isn't too bothered. We drove slowly through Mikumi this morning and saw a few animals along the way but nothing that we haven't seen already. No big cats unfortunately.
