Day 35

After a 4 hour bus journey we arrive in Vientiane and get a Tuk Tuk to our new guesthouse "Vientiane Star Hotel". We walk around a bit to see what there is to do but being a capital city all you get is people trying to sell you things and offer you Tuk Tuk rides. Like Bangkok it is very annoying. Slightly more annoying however was the fact that when we checked the foreign currency in our bags we realised that a £20 note, $100 Bill and $20 New Zealand dollar bill were missing, totalling about £90. We are fairly sure that the money was stolen from our bags the same day we went tubing in the last guesthouse as this was also the only day the room was cleaned and the first time we have left money in our bags. We didn't really have a choice as we didn't want to take it down the river, especially in the state I ended up in. Feeling extremely angry and many swear words later, it was only £90 that had been taken and could have been more, we didn't want this one petty theft to affect our journey.
