Day 26
Pak Beng must be the equivalent to England's Slough...it was raining as we left the boat and then our backpacks were thrown on the dampened mud for us to collect, with kids picking them up and trying to charge people for moving them 2 meters at best. We managed to sort out accommodation on the slowboat for £4 each. Let's just say you get what you pay for. We went out to get some Laotian Kip (currency) and were offered drugs twice. The first batch were good, but the second didn't really do anything for us (joking). We had a meal at the place we were staying in. That is about it for Pak Beng....moving on....
Day 27
The second day on the slow boat was similar to the first...slow. However the scenery was enjoyable and reminded me a lot of the tv programme "Lost". We spent 9 hours on the boat before docking in Luang Prabang in Laos.
