Today we had no plans locked in for today. I had put together a day where we take the train/tram to the Plaka area of Athens known for its winding, cobblestone streets inviting travelers into its shops and restaurants. We had walked thought the area last night after the restaurant. People were out on the narrow streets eating outside and the shops were all open.
I thought Mom would like to go there to check out the Greek stores but her leg was sore from all the stair climbing the past few days. Although it was warm today, in the high 70s, there was a few drops of rain. Mom probably needed the break so we stayed aboard the ship. We organized the stateroom a bit and then while I went for the Internet, she went up to the spa and had her nails done plus some other stuff. She liked that. While she was spending money, I was saving it. You see, I picked up free Internet from the Athens port so I was using it, trying to get anything done that I could for free. We were talking to Boomer on FaceTime while the ship was pulling out at 4pm when we lost the signal.
We're good customers so I got some more Internet minutes. We went down to the fancy dinner tonight. I had shrimp appetizer, Dutch pea soup, beef Wellington and apple pie with ice cream. Mom had the same but with cherry cobbler. We met some real nice people tonight at dinner. One couple wanted to go on our tour tomorrow in Santorini. I don't know if there is any space but they're going to show up tomorrow at the meeting place just to see.
