Whistler is lovely. Had a great day!
We met officially at 7.30am with Charles and did all the paperwork and tour briefing etc, and then hit the road around 8.45am. The van is crappier and older than the previous one!
We drove for an hour or two before stopping at a coffee shop (caffiene, a welcome sight at that point!), drove more and stopped at a grocery shop to buy lunch, drove another 15 mins to a picnic spot to eat lunch, then went for a short walk to see a waterfall.
We drove another couple of hours before reaching our hostel at Whistler around 3pm. We had free time until 5pm so I took the chance to do some much needed washing. Besides, we're at the bottom of a mountain...there is nothing here!
At 5 we caught the bus into town, it's about a half hour ride. We wandered around the small village for an hour or so. It was stinking hot! We regrouped at 7pm for dinner at a pub type place, which was cheap but pretty nice.
Then we moved on to another pub. We were on free time and Charles said we can bus back to the hostel whenever we wanted. I didn't want a big night, and I left with the first group back on the bus around 10pm.
Looking forward to checking out the mountain tomorrow.
So tired; falling into bed now, but just want to say, my new tour leader Charles rocks!
