Hi everyone :) Thank you for all your messages. We are having a great time, today we looked around both centres, in the morning we went to the rehab centre and looked at all the good work that is done there, although it is called the rehabilitation centre it is more of an assessment area combined with teaching areas, children are assessed from birth and parents are taught skills that will help them in daily life, from practical skills to how to access financial help. The students learn here until the age of 14 then to the farm, where we went in the afternoon. We are going to be doing our work placementss at the farm starting on Wednesday.
This evening we went to the Dolce Vita, a local shopping centre where we had our tea, some chose pizza, others pasta, fresh fruit, filled rolls, and of course burgers, everyone made there own choices and we all sat outside and ate together, this was really nice as everyone chatted about family and places they had been to around the world, we have a very well travelled group of students and staff :)
On the way back to the hotel some walked, some caught the bus.......ok the wrong bus......but we did see a lot of Coimbra, a five minute bus ride turned into an hour or so, thought the bus was going to turn right up the hill, but it turned left and went down the hill and all around the town, before getting back to where we started, when we got back to the hotel we threw our arms up and waved them around and shouted 'yeah, home sweet home' then it was straight to bed.
