One of our last days in Portugal and what a fantastic day its been, where shall i start.
This morning saw us driving to Figueria da Foz to the salt museum, very interesting :) they showed us the process of harvesting salt from the sea back breaking work and a long process, we even tried chocolate with salt - delicious. Onwards to the beach, very breezy but sunny, you will have to ask Julie and Lauren about the water temperature :) Next we went into town where there was a display of fire engines from years ago to the present date - lots of pictures to follow :)
A short bus drive up the hill to an amazing view point overlooking the Atlantic Ocean - wow is all i can say.
Next to McDonalds for a quick lunch, the onwards once again to a fantastic castle ruin, surrounded by paddy fields yes paddy fields i learned something new, i had no idea that they grew rice in Portugal let alone in such vast quantities. Our day was finished of with an amazing local dessert, a flakey type pastry filled with an egg custard type filling.
It has been a day filled with fun and laughter - students have been a delight not only today but also over the last two weeks. A special Thank You to everyone from APCC who made today so amazing.

Donna Hollamby Another lovely day out, you lucky people. Hope you're all enjoying your last day, it will be good to see you all when you get back to college tomorrow evening, but I'm sure you will be sad it's coming to an end. Thank you so much to all the staff who went along and who have been looking after our group so brilliantly!
