Friday. Leaving Portland behind, Seattle is next in line. Beautiful blue skies and warm summer temperatures make it a perfect day for out on the water. Seattle is about 2.5 hours drive north of Portland and on the coast. Aaron's friends Dean and Stef invited us all for a day out on their sailing club's 36 footer.
A light breeze guided us across the bay, complete with seal sightings, until it was time to anchor for lunch. Tasty gourmet sandwiches and several bottles of wine later, Aaron and Amanda made sure we would always have fond memories of this day. Aaron announced that he and Amanda were engaged, then Amanda proudly flashed her gorgeous diamond ring. Argyle Champagne toasts followed the hilarious story of the previous nights attempts by Aaron to create a romantic setting to propose. Seems like candles and automatic sprinkler systems created issues Aaron hadn't foreseen. Thankfully it all worked out well in the end though.
