Yountville is a small picturesque town in the Napa Valley and looks like it would be a prime location for a Disney movie. Manicured lawns, perfect gardens, quaint shops and building facades. A quick pack up of the camp and we were on the road by 9am. Napa Valley here we come. The wine region of America! As we passed Domaine Chandon there was a quick u turn. A bottle of sparkling later, we were sparkling also and ready to hit the next winery tasting. It happened to be Jessup, which was really nice too. After that it was back to the hotel for a free wine tasting, then on to Ad Hoc, a Michelin star restaurant for dinner. Thanks uber for the lift!

Saturday. It was lovely waking up all snugly in my sleeping bag this morning as the sun streamed into the tent. Although hot during the day, it gets quite cold at night. Last night Aaron got a lovely fire going in the fire pit at our campsite, over which delicious pork ribs smothered in spicy BBQ sauce were cooked. A little history lesson for the day. Yosemite Valley was once a simple river running through the valley of a huge mountain range. About 300 million years ago during the ice age, the valley filled with ice and a huge glacier formed. We found a lovely campsite this morning closer in towards the centre of the park. Still about 25 km from the visitors centre, which also has a large general store, post office, art gallery, restaurants and cafés - small village really. The Central park area is very busy, with traffic jams and pedestrians worse than peak hour in Dean St. Albury. Over 6 million people visit this park each year, mainly in summer months!
