Thursday. Excitement. Off to Vancouver today. Amanda and Aaron have been busy with paperwork for their work visas for Canada, so it was decided that John and I take a bus to Vancouver, rather than being driven up. Amanda volunteered to book our tickets. Thankfully the bus driver let us on, considering the tickets were booked for the following day by mistake. You were nearly stuck with us for another day, Amanda!
The pleasant four and a half hour trip included a boarder crossing, where everybody, complete with their luggage unpacked from the bus, had to have passports checked and stamped.
After settling into our quaint, traditional styled hotel, that is surrounded by high rises, we set out to explore the city of Vancouver. We got as far as next door at the pub for a happy hour drink. Refreshed, and raring to go, off we went again. Vancouver has a lovely harbour, complete with floating petrol station and seaplane airport. Walking and bike tracks surround the harbour on the city side, making for a very picturesque stroll. The roads also have many dedicated bike lanes that are well used by locals and tourists alike. Something to put on tomorrow's agenda perhaps.
After roaming the city until sundown, which is about 10pm, it was time for a bite to eat, then back to the hotel for some well earned rest.
