After the hotel breakfast of juice, coffee and toast, it was time to discover Vancouver. So onto a hire bike, complete with helmet and bike lock, and around the city we rode. The central city area of Vancouver is on a peninsular, so the track around most of it had a water view. Thank goodness the drivers are very courteous to riders and there are many bike lanes, as my traffic negotiation skills on a bike are somewhat limited. The pathway beside the harbour and around the large Stanley Park was very picturesque, but as the track was narrow in parts, the path in front of me took most of my attention.
We returned both bikes unscathed after we completed the ride back through the city streets.
From there I went to keep a hairdresser appointment I had made yesterday afternoon. While the lady who made the appt. for me was Japanese, I didn't realize until I was seated that I was the only non-Japanese person in the salon, which was very busy. And they served lovely green tea!
