India is still pretty much amazing! This week I have been in Rishikesh, about an hour north west of Dehradun. It is considered the yoga capitol of the world so needless to say I have been doing some yoga this past week! Rishikesh itself is split by the Ganga or Ganges as we Americans call it. Monday when I arrived there were many people bathing in the river because it was considered a sacred holiday and if you bathed in the Ganga that day then you would have good luck in your future lives. We put our feet in the river that day but definitely did not bathe in it until...yesterday. All week I have been learning about Naturopathic medicine and the different type of therapy there are in naturopathic medicine. I have also been learning how to give swedish massages. I will be staying in Rishikesh another week to perfect my massage skills. Yesterday we went rafting on the Ganga which was an amazing experience. It was very peaceful for the most part...except fot he class 4 rapids we hit as well as the class 3! It was great. Sorry I don't have pictures...the internet cafe's here in Rishikesh do not have USB ports so I have no way of uploading any of my pictures. I will put them up as soon as I have the opportunity. We are heading out on a hike today to see some waterfalls near Rishikesh...it is pretty hot here so it will be nice to put our feet in when we get there! Another interesting thing about Rishikesh is that the monkeys come out around 4:00 in the afternoon and we get to sit and watch them play in the trees. I got a pretty cool video of them jumping from tree to tree so I will try and put that up when I get a chance. I will try to post again soon!

Guilherme ashram stay is free of cost. There is no fixed tariff and you can dontae according to your will before leaving the place. Plus there are two meals a day and afternoon/morning tea that is provided for free. The people are very good and hospitable too.The ashram is very peaceful and right on the bank of the Ganges. Its clean, silent and the great views of the mountain with the Ganga river flowing alongside make for a very nice retreat if you are looking for a quiet place in the town.Wish you a happy trip
